The OTN management system is so simple and yet so powerful. It is composed of a Personal Computer, for this purpose equipped with the required software. The OMS gives the operator a clear picture of the network, provides extended fault management capabilities and allows the network manager to establish a service (e.g. audio, video etc...) or load a new network configuration in next to no time. Moreover, you can have a standby network management system if so desired.
The OTN network does not rely on its OMS during operation nor for reconfiguration. You can even run an OTN network without an OMS!

The management of an OTN network is easy, and changes or extensions will be simple and free of risk, as the network is deterministic and predictable.
