Network Design Engineer (m/f)

The role:

The Network Design Engineer can design MPLS networks based on customer requirements. The Network Design Engineer should be able to translate customer needs regarding their net-work and their applications first into a high-level conceptual network design and later in the process into a more detailed MPLS network solution. You are able to do this thanks to your in-debt knowledge of networking concepts, MPLS, Ethernet, IP protocols and legacy interfaces. You will use your experience and expertise to define improvements needed in the future de-velopment of our products.
Your main interfaces in the company are the Customer Solutions Managers, who define the technical offers for our customers in the bidding phase and who are responsible for the project management once networks are sold and being deployed, the service engineers, who support our customers in case they run into technical issues, and the R&D engineers, who develop new features and new products.


    • Bachelor or Master of Engineering or equal by experience
    • A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in telecommunication
    • Strong analytical and synthetic capacities
    • Expert in MPLS networks
    • Expert in Ethernet (VLAN, Spanning tree, IGMP…) and IP (OSPF, PIM, VRRP…)
    • You are fluent in English (written and spoken)
    • Good communicator and influencer (towards internal stakeholders and customers)
    • You take ownership when it comes to defining the appropriate MPLS network for our customers

    Our ideal candidate has good knowledge about:

    • QOS mechanisms
    • VoIP (SIP, RTP, …)
    • Legacy interfaces (E1, T1, 2/4wire E&M, Serial interfaces, FXS/FXO,…)
    • Synchronization mechanisms (Sync-E, IEEE-1588, …)
